As if it could ever be that easy,
putting all my trust
in you.

As if I’d never been hurt or
hurting others
by something so simple as having or gaining
trust.

“Trust me with your heart.”
As if you could ever manage
to be able to hold all those
broken pieces.

As if they wouldn’t fall
one by one,
shattering by the impact with the floor,
turning into even more unbearable pieces.

“Just trust me.”
As if I haven’t already tried,
and failed.
Disappointing us both.

As if I haven’t spent hours
analyzing myself.
To see if maybe there’s just
a switch that I need to turn on.

But there isn’t.
